Gunpoint Arrest in Port Hope

Port Hope Police say one person is in custody following an incident on Sunday, November 19, 2023.

Police say shortly before noon on Sunday, police received a report of a vehicle in a driveway on Talbot Drive, just off Ward Street with the driver acting strange.

The vehicle was on an alert by OPP for the driver acting erratically.

At one point, police spotted what they believed to be a firearm inside the vehicle.

Cobourg Police and Northumberland OPP were called for assistance.

The individual was taken into custody at gunpoint and police say they will provide an update.

Police seized two pellet guns from the vehicle.
