Fatal Motorcycle Collision in Municipality of Brighton

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a motor vehicle collision on County Road 30, Municipality of Brighton.

On November 13, 2023 shortly before 3:50 p.m., members of the OPP, Brighton Fire Department, Trent Hills Fire Department and Northumberland County Paramedics responded to the scene of a collision involving a motorcycle and a commercial motor vehicle (CMV). A motorcycle was travelling south on County Road 30 and a CMV was travelling northbound.  As the CMV turned into a driveway on the left, it’s believed the motorcycle struck the CMV.  As a result of the collision, one individual involved was transported to a local hospital where they were pronounced deceased.

County Road 30 will remain closed at County Road 29 and 1st Line West for several hours while OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) members conduct their preliminary investigation.

The investigation remains ongoing and an update will be provided when available.
