Northumberland OPP – Trent Hills Man Facing Charges of Assault with a Weapon, Pointing Firearm and Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose (Name Released)

A resident of Hastings, Municipality of Trent Hills, is facing charges as a result of an incident in Alnwick-Haldimand Township.

On September 17th, 2023 at approximately 12:54 a.m., members from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call where a male was assaulted with a firearm during what appeared to be a dispute.

Police attended the location and arrested the accused without incident. As part of their investigation, police located a shotgun that matched the description of the weapon used in the offence.

As a result of the investigation, Brandon ROLLINGS (age 38) of Hastings has been charged with the following offences:

  • Assault with a weapon – two counts
  • Pointing a firearm – two counts
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of J ustice in Cobourg on November 15th, 2023.
