Peterborough County OPP – Collision Leads to Impaired Driving Charges (Name Released)

A two vehicle collision has resulted in one driver being charged with Impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 7 in Otonabee-South Monaghan Township shortly after 8:00 p.m. on September 9, 2023. Upon arrival, officers spoke to both drivers and found one of them to be under the influence of alcohol.

Jordan STEWART (age 32) of Lindsay, ON, was arrested and charged with:

·      Operation while impaired-alcohol

·      Operation while impaired-alcohol – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on October 10, 2023.

The Peterborough County OPP reminds motorists to plan ahead when consuming alcohol. Use a designated driver, cab, public transit, or stay overnight. Any amount of alcohol or drugs can impact your ability to make sound judgements.
