Quinte West OPP – Driver Arrested After Fleeing from Police

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a driver after he failed to stop for police.

On July 31, 2023, at approximately 6:00 p.m., an officer was patrolling in the area of Whites Road, Quinte West. A traffic stop was attempted but the vehicle failed to stop. Police were eventually able to box in the fleeing vehicle in a parking lot, where two OPP vehicles were struck. The driver was arrested.

Norman HENRY, 50 years old, fro m Quinte West has been charged with the following offences:

  • Flight from Police
  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  • Operation While Prohibited – Two Counts

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
