Once Again Olympus Burger is Voted One of the Top 10 Burgers in Canada by The Food Network

Olympus Burgers in Port Hope is again one of the Food Networks Top 10 Burgers in Canada.

On July 26, 2023 The Food Network released it’s Top 10 list of Best Burgers across Canada.

Co-owner George Kallonakis and his father Emmanuel just celebrated their 10th anniversary of Olympus Burgers and couldn’t be more thrilled with the honour from The Food Network.

“We’re super excited to share the news – especially after our 10-year anniversary,” said George Kallonakis.

“It’s just the love and support we received from the community and all of our customers.”

“People love telling our story to the rest of the world.”

Since the beginning Kallonakis said, “it’s been a labour of love.”

Spending a year renovating a former Kentucky Fried Chicken outlet in downtown Port Hope.

Then it was, “starting off with this crazy idea of naming the burgers after the 12 Gods of Olympus.”

Since then, Kallonakis said, “it’s been 10-years of cooking up the best burgers we possibly could.”

Patrons have come from all over the world including, New Zealand, Australia, Europe, United States and across Canada to try out the burgers.

Kallonakis said there is no real secret to the creations, just “love what you do.”

“It comes down to using fresh ingredients, loving what you’re doing and putting the passion into it.”

Another proud accomplish is in 2018 they were the first carbon-zero certified restaurant in Canada.

For Olympus Burger it’s been a long list of accolades by different organizations.

Canadian Living has voted them number 1, Heinz Ketchup voted Olympus Burger in the Top 25, a travel website in the Top 7. It’s the third time in 10-years The Food Network has ranked Olympus Burger in the Top 10.

“Sometimes you need to pinch me to wake up because I definitely couldn’t imagine being here where we are today.”

“We feel super proud of everything we’ve accomplished – but we still have that same momentum that we started with.”
