Today’s Northumberland caught up with Josh Richards while he was relaxing with friends in his hometown of Cobourg over the holiday weekend.

Twenty-one-year-old Richards is a Canadian social media personality and influencer who lives in Los Angeles but loves coming back to Cobourg.

Richards has 1.9 billion likes and 26 million followers on TikTok and 6.4 million followers on Instagram.

Catching up with Richards who was with his friends, he graciously took a moment to speak how proud he is being from Cobourg.

“I love coming back here. Meet the people here. The pace here. It’s like nothing else in the world. If you haven’t been to Cobourg, you should be in Cobourg because it’s truly one of the last beautiful spots that hasn’t been touched by to much tourism, to many people. Everyone you meet here is great people, everyone you meet here will invite you into their home. They’ll have a drink, they’ll serve you a meal – it’s like nothing else. I love being back in Cobourg.”

Even though Richards lives in Los Angeles, he says proudly says, “it’s better than LA. I hate to say it, but that’s how it is. Because it’s so peaceful. The people are so great – you can’t match it.”
