Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Charged with Theft, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (No Name Released)

On Monday, June 11, 2023, police were called to a residence in the area of James Street and Henry Street in response to a report of theft from porch.

The complainant informed police that on June 10, 2023, an individual was captured on ring camera taking three EGO brand batteries from the property.

As a result of the investigation, police located an individual matching the description provided, which led to the identification and subsequent arrest of a 40-year-old Cobourg man. The man was arrested and charged with the following offences:

1. Theft Under $5000: Contrary to Section 334 Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)

2. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime: Contrary to Section 354(1)(a) CCC

The accused was released with a future court date.
