Cobourg Police – Man Charged with Possession of Fentanyl, Carrying Concealed Weapon, Seven Counts Fail to Comply (No Name Given)

A 28-year-old Cobourg man has been arrested after police responded to a call on Monday afternoon.

On Monday, May 22, 2023, at 12:40 p.m., police were dispatched to Division Street and University Avenue East for a report of a disturbance.

As a result of the police investigation, an individual in breach of probation was arrested. Upon arrest, police located a small quantity of suspected fentanyl and a concealed knife. The 28-year-old Cobourg man was charged with the following:

1. Fail to Comply with Release Order to Section 145(5) of the Criminal Code (CC)

2. Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance (Fentanyl) Contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.

3. Carrying Concealed Weapon (Switch Blade) to Section 90 CC

4. Seven counts of Fail to Comply with Probation contrary to Section 733.1(1)

The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded into custody.
