Peterborough OPP – Traffic Stop Leads to Impaired Driving Charges – and More

A member of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on May 13, 2023, at approximately 7:30pm after observing it’s driving. The officer spoke with the driver and found them to be under the influence of alcohol.

Adam MCINTOSH (age 43) of no fixed address, has been charged with:

·      Operation while impaired-alcohol

·      Operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration-80 plus

·      Take motor vehicle without consent

·      Fail to comply with Probation Order

·      Operation while Prohibited

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on June 20, 2023.

The Peterborough County OPP reminds motorists to plan ahead when consuming alcohol. Use a designated driver, cab, public transit, or stay overnight. Any amount of alcohol or drugs can impact your ability to make sound judgements.
