The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged nine people following the execution of a search warrant in Trenton.
On May 3, 2023, at approximately 5:00 a.m., the OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) assisted by the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a search warrant of a residence on Marmora Street as part of a drug trafficking investigation. As a result, nine people were arrested, with a quantity of suspected cocaine, hydromorphone and cash being seized.
Shawn CHAMBERS (Junior), 30 years-old from Trenton, has been charged with the following offences:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code
- Fail to comply with probation order – 2 counts
- Failure to comply wi th release order – 3 counts
Aaron GRAY, 37 years-old from Trenton, has been charged with the following offences:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Fail to comply with probation order
Darlene BUTT (40 years-old from Trenton), Joey CHAMBERS (31 years-old from Trenton), Laura CHAMBERS (55 years-old from Trenton), Shawn CHAMBERS (Senior, 53 years-old from Trenton), Tanya COOPER (45 years-old from Trenton), David MACDONALD (44 years-old from Belleville) and Amanda YOUNG (38 years-old from Trenton) have been charged with the following offences:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
Shawn CHAMBERS (Junior) is being held in custody pending a bail hearing. The other eight accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on May 29, 2023.
