In Community, Local, Upcoming Events

This year, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northumberland is very proud to announce that we have been selected as a recipient of the Smile Cookie campaign fundraiser for all Cobourg and Colborne Tim Hortons locations.

Every year, Tim Hortons guests, volunteers and restaurant owners across the country rally together behind the weeklong Smile Cookie campaign.

For one week, the iconic chocolate chunk cookies topped with pink and blue icing drawing out a smile will be available at every Tim Hortons restaurant across the country with 100% of proceeds from each cookie at Cobourg and Colborne Tim Hortons Restaurant locations will be donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northumberland.

You can participate in Smile Cookie week by visiting your local participating Tim Hortons between – May 1 – 7 and buying a Smile Cookie for $1.50 (plus tax). Or, pre-order a box of Smile Cookies by downloading and filling out an order form in advance, and dropping it off at your local Tims. Pre-orders must be made 48 hours in advance.

“Every Smile Cookie purchase made at Cobourg and Colborne Tim Hortons Restaurant locations helps to make the youth in our community thrive, creating a better tomorrow.” says Melanie Stewart, Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northumberland.

About Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northumberland
Big Brothers Big Sisters plays a significant role in the lives of children and youth. Last year alone we assisted 365 children and their families through our many services and activities. Big Brothers Big Sisters offers both one-to-one and group programming in the community and in schools.

At Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northumberland, we believe every child should given the same opportunity – to grow – to learn – to reach their full potential. By connecting youth in our community with a caring mentor we can expand their possibilities, and provide positive social supports necessary for youth to manage life’s challenges.

Each time we pair a child with a mentor or introduce a group of students to an in-school program, we start something incredible – a life-changing relationship built on friendship, trust and empowerment.
