Cobourg Police Help Keep The County Clean

In Local

A number of Cobourg Police officers took part in cleaning the area around Cobourg Police Constable Chris Garrett Memorial Bridge on Tuesday, April 19, 2023.

Cobourg Police Chief Paul VandeGraaf, Deputy Chief Jeff Haskins and a number of civilian and police officers took part in the cleaning as part of the “Keep the County Clean” challenge.

“It’s a great opportunity to help out, but it’s actually discouraging to see how much garbage is actually here,” said VandeGraaf.

Along with garbage there were empty alcohol containers which causes police great concern considering the drivers are either heading onto or getting off of Canada’s busiest highway.
