Connor MacGregor and Isaac Langdon had four points each for the Port Hope Panthers during a 6-2 victory over the visiting Picton Pirates in front of over 700 spectators Saturday night at the Jack Burger Sports Complex.

Port Hope now leads the Provincial Junior Hockey League’s Tod Division final 2-0 with Game 3 of the best-of-seven series Sunday night in Picton at 7:30.

On Saturday, MacGregor scored twice in the second period for the Panthers, including the eventual winner.

Christopher Brydges also had two goals for Port Hope. The first evened the score in the opening frame while the other was part of three straight for the Panthers in the second after Picton had tied the game 2-2.

Langdon, who also had three assists, scored a shorthanded go-ahead goal late in the first.

With the Panthers leading 5-2 after two, Cole Kimble – who was the overtime hero in the series opener – rounded out the scoring midway through the third.

The next game in Port Hope – Game 4 of the series – is Wednesday night at 7:30.
