Update – Northumberland OPP Make Arrest Following Shooting Investigation

One Arrest Made, Investigation Continues

The Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit have arrested a person in connection with a shooting investigation.

On March 10, 2023, members of the Northumberland OPP Crime Unit arrested a person in connection with a shooting that occurred in the early morning hours on March 7, 2023, after a male was dropped off at a local hospital suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds.

Since approximately 2 p.m. on Friday, March 10, 2023, members of the Northumberland OPP have been outside a apartment building located at 161 University Avenue East in Cobourg.  Shortly before 11 p.m. it’s believed police executed a warrant at one of the units in the building with approximately seven OPP vehicles outside the residence.  Police wouldn’t confirm if the investigation at the location was pertaining to the shooting investigation.

This investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information regarding this incident should contact the Northumberland OPP at 1-888-310-1122. In addition, the OPP is asking anyone in the area of Roseneath during the early morning hours of March 7, 2023 to upload dashcam or video camera footage.
