Quinte West OPP – Two Impaired Investigations (Names Released)

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges for two separate impaired driving investigations.

On February 25, 2023, at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers responded to a single vehicle collision on the Dundas Street Bridge in Quinte West. An investigation led to the driver being arrested.

Troy BROE, 28 years old from Brighton, has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concent ration (80 plus).

On February 25, 2023, at approximately 10:00 p.m., officers responded to a traffic complaint on Crown Street in Quinte West. An investigation led to the driver being arrested.

Lorna COUGHLIN, 76 years old from Huntsville, has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

Both accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on March 16, 2023. Additionally, both had their licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.
