Durham Regional Police – Female Gymnastics Coach Charged with Sexual Assault

A 34-year-old gymnastics coach is facing charges in relation to a historic sexual assault.

 

The DRPS Special Victims Unit commenced an investigation in October 2022 after information came forward that the suspect had touched the victim inappropriately.  The suspect was identified and arrested. She was employed by a gymnastics club within Durham Region. The name of the club is being withheld to protect the victim’s identity.

Sarah NICHOLSON, age 34, of Oshawa, is charged with Sexual Assault x5 and Sexual Exploitation x5. She was released on an Undertaking.


The suspect worked at the gymnastics club from 2005 to 2022 but is no longer employed there. Investigators want to ensure there are no other victims.
