Peterborough County OPP – Charges Laid After Search Warrant Executed

Members of the Peterborough/Northumberland Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges in relation to a Controlled Drug and Substances Act (CDSA) investigation.

On October 6, 2022, a CDSA search warrant was executed at a residence in the City of Peterborough. Officers seized fentanyl, crack cocaine, cocaine, a shotgun, ammunition, scales, cell phones and Canadian currency.

As a result of this investigation, two people have been charged.

Kameron JAMES (age 36) of Peterborough, has been charged with:

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-cocaine-two counts

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-opioid

• Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order

• Careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition

• Unauthorized possession of a firearm

• Possession of property of proceeds obtained by crime-under $5000

• Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on November 23, 2022.

Amber WICKLUND (age 33) of Peterborough, has been charged with:

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-cocaine-two counts

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-opioid

• Careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition

• Unauthorized possession of a firearm

• Possession of property of proceeds obtained by crime-under $5000

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on November 24, 2022.

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment attended a serious motor vehicle collision which occurred at approximately 12:05am on October 7, 2022 on the 4th Line of Asphodel. JAMES and the vehicle’s passenger are facing charges in relation to this incident.

Kameron JAMES has been charged with:

• Unauthorized possession of a firearm

• Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm

• Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

• Possession of weapon or ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order

• Possession of prohibited device or ammunition for dangerous purpose

• Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was prohibited device or ammunition

• Dangerous operation

• Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code

• Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm

• Careless use of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition

• Failure to comply with undertaking

The accused was arrested on October 27, 2022 and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough later today.

Dustin WICKLUND (age 41) of Peterborough, has been charged with:

• Unauthorized possession of a firearm

• Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm

• Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

• Possession of prohibited device or ammunition for dangerous purpose

• Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was prohibited device or ammunition

• Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm

• Careless use of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition

The accused was arrested on October 27, 2022 and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on December 1, 2022.
