Durham Regional Police – Suspect Arrested for a Stabbing of 78-Year-Old in Whitby

Investigators have charged a 27-year-old male in connection to a stabbing on Thursday afternoon.

On Thursday, October 27, 2022, at approximately 3:05 p.m., members of Central West Division responded to Motel 6 on Consumers Drive in Whitby for a stabbing.  The suspect

Approached the 78-year-old victim and stabbed him before taking his personal property and fleeing. The victim was taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators were able to locate the suspect and he was arrested nearby.

Dale WYATT, age 27, of Clarington, is charged with: Aggravated Assault; Assault with a Weapon; Robbery; Weapons Dangerous and Fail to Comply with Release Order x4.  He was held for a bail hearing.
