Peterborough County OPP – Traffic Complaint Leads to Impaired Driving Charges (Name Released)

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 7 at approximately 10:45pm last night. The vehicle was located in a gas station parking lot. The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol.

Shayne FERTILE (age 20) of Otonabee-South Monaghan Township, has been charged with:

• Operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration-80 plus

• Operation while impaired-alcohol

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on November 15, 2022.
