Cobourg and Colborne Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Sales to Benefit Cornerstone

Starting September 19, the Tim Horton Smile Cookie week returns. This year 100% of proceeds from these special cookies sold in Cobourg and Colborne will be donated to Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre (Cornerstone).

“We are honored to, once again, be the recipients of a major campaign like Smile Cookie,” says Nancy Johnston, Executive Director for Cornerstone. “Funds generated from the campaign will
directly benefit the many women and children in our community impacted by family violence, and help us create a place where hope grows,” Johnston adds.

“We are so grateful to be take part in for a second year in the Tim Horton’s Smile Cookie Campaign,” says Janelle Eisler, Manager of Community Engagement of Cornerstone. “Having seen the incredible support our community provided with this campaign last year, whether it was the staff at each store, the volunteers decorating the cookies or the community enjoying
this sweet treat it was truly inspiring to be a part of.”

The iconic chocolate chunk cookies topped with pink and blue icing drawing out a smile will be available at every Tim Hortons restaurant across the county, with the 5 Cobourg and 1 Colborne
location specifically benefiting Cornerstone.

Established in 1983, Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre (Cornerstone) is an accredited violence against women agency working to end gender-based violence by providing accessible, compassionate, and best practice modeled programs and services inclusive of shelter, counselling, housing support, and prevention through a support system that inspires hope, creates safety, and fosters resilience. Our services provide a range of options and entry points, helping women gain the right kind of support at the right time in their journey. All services are free, confidential, woman-centered, inclusive, and accepting. All woman-identified individuals are welcome in all our spaces, including cis and trans-women.

The Smile Cookie program started 1996, raising funds for Hamilton Children’s Hospital in Ontario. Twenty-five years later: 100% of proceeds from each Smile Cookie is still donated to charities from coast-to-coast-to-coast supporting the communities in which the restaurants operate. In 2022, more than 600 different charities will benefit from the weeklong campaign.

During the campaign, guests can enjoy a Smile Cookie for $1, plus applicable taxes. 100% of the proceeds go towards local charitable organizations.

100% of proceeds from each cookie is donated to a local charity or community group in which Tim Hortons restaurants operate. In 2021, more than 600 charitable organizations in communities across Canada will directly benefit from Smile Cookie sales.

There are two ways you can participate in Smile Cookie week:
Visit your local participating Tim Hortons between September 19 and 25 and buy a Smile Cookie for $1 (plus tax).
Or, you can pre-order a box of Smile Cookies by downloading and filling out an order form in advance, and dropping it off at your local Tims. Pre-orders must be made 48 hours in advance

Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the Smile Cookie campaign has raised more than $60 million for charities, hospitals and community programs across the country.

Thanks to Tim Hortons guests, the Smile Cookie campaign in 2020 raised a record-breaking number of smiles, with nearly $11M donated to charities, hospitals and community groups across Canada.

The Smile Cookie campaign is a great way for Tims quests and restaurant owners to give back to their communities. 100% of funds raised through the sale of Smile Cookies go directly to local charities selected by restaurant owners, including our organization.
