Trailer Becomes Unhitched Blocking All Four Lanes of Elgin Street in Cobourg

In News

A trailer blocked all four lanes of Elgin Street in Cobourg on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 after it became unhitched from the cab.

A transport was leaving a yard with a 53-foot trailer on Elgin Street, just east of the Cobourg Firehall shortly before 11 p.m. destined for Peterborough.

The cab separated from the trailer, with the trailer blocking all lanes of Elgin Street.

Traffic was re-routed while a tow-truck was called to the scene and worked into the night to clear the trailer from the roadway.

The driver wasn’t injured.
