Northumberland County Welcomes New Director of IT

Northumberland County is pleased to welcome Kamalesan (Kam) Muthulingam as the organization’s new Director of IT. Kam brings to this role a wealth of expertise in information technology management, including IT infrastructure modernization, cloud strategy, cyber security programs and data governance frameworks.

“It is an honour to take on the role of Director of IT for Northumberland County,” states Kam. “I look forward to working with the team of IT professionals here to support corporate goals, and to collaborating with Council, staff and the community to advance the Digital Strategy Vision of a ‘SMARTnorthumberland: an intelligent community’, rolling out IT initiatives that build an inclusive, prosperous and secure community.”

With over 17 years of experience in the field of IT, Kam has cultivated skills in team building, change management and innovation. Prior to accepting this role with the County, he served as Director of Information Technology at a leading architectural firm in Toronto, responsible for managing the firm’s global IT operations. Kam holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Telecommunications, is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and is ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) certified.

“Kam has established himself over his career as a strategic, forward-thinking leader, spearheading organizational digital transformation initiatives,” states County CAO Jennifer Moore. “With his skills and expertise, he will add significant value to the senior leadership team. We are thrilled to welcome Kam to Northumberland County.”
