Quinte West OPP – Person Charged with Sexual Assault

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following a sexual assault investigation.

On July 11, 2022 at approximately 10:00 p.m., Quinte West OPP responded to a report of a suspicious person at a business located on 2nd Dug Hill Road in Trenton. Upon arrival, officers spoke with an individual who alleged that a suspicious male approached them and sexually assaulted th em inside the business. Following an investigation, officers identified the accused. On July 12, 2022, the accused was arrested.

Joshua GENEREAUX, 33 years old from Quinte West has been charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

  • Sexual Assault – CC 271; and
  • Forcible Confinement – CC279(2)

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear for bail at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on July 13, 2022.
