Northumberland OPP – Death Investigation in Trent Hills

Members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have located a person deceased in the Trent River within the Township of Trent Hills.

On July 8, 2022, just before 8:30 a.m., officers responded to a call for a body floating in the Trent River in the area of Bridge St. Officers located and recovered the body from the water however the victim was deceased.

The deceased has been identified as Gail CLEARY, age 80, from Trent Hills. </SP an>

The death is believed to be non-suspicious and no foul play is suspected.

The Northumberland OPP Crime Unit and Central Region Forensic Identification Services (FIS) are continuing the investigation in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario.

Police are asking the public’s assistance in this investigation. Any person with information regarding this incident should immediately contact the Northumberland OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
