15th Annual Pet Palooza Raises Funds for The Big Doghouse

In Local

Justin’s Pet Store’s 15th annual Pet Palooza was held on Saturday, June 25, 2022 in Cobourg.

The event took place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with many different activities including a dunk tank that featured a number of people including Cobourg councillor Adam Bureau and MPP David Piccini.

A total of 15% from every sale went in support of The Big Dog House Rescue in Port Hope.

Some of the events that took place during the day were a free swag bag for the first 100 people at the event, cotton candy and other sweets, a massive raffle table filled with unique items donated by generous people and businesses in Northumberland, yummy food with options for people with dietary restrictions and much more.

Melissa Grover started The Big Dog House three years ago as a non-profit dog rescue in Port Hope.

A number of puppies on-site and was taking in any adoption or foster forms for the dogs.

Grover said she has been into veterinary medicine for a number of years and is an advocate for animals and their welfare, so it just fit in to start a non-profit dog rescue.
