Northumberland Paramedics – Woman Injured After Stretcher Tips Over

In Local

A elderly woman was injured while being transported to hospital by Northumberland Paramedics on Thursday, June 16, 2022.

Northumberland Paramedics responded to a call at Extendicare and while crews were transporting a patient on a stretcher, the stretcher hit a rut and tipped over.

Chief Paramedic, Susan Brown said the patient did sustain injury during the transition to the ambulance and crews provided care and treatment.

The patient was transported to Northumberland Hills Hospital, where care was transitioned to the team there.

“We will be reviewing this incident and determining whether any further action is required for future prevention. Our thoughts are certainly with this individual and their family at this time.”
