John Henderson threw his hat into the ring for re-election on Monday, May 9, 2022 in front of Victoria Hall.

Standing amongst friends, supporters and family including his wife Donna and son Spencer, Henderson said he’ll be running for re-election as Cobourg mayor in the upcoming municipal election which ends on October 24.

“For 36 years, I have been truly blessed to call Cobourg my home,” stated Henderson.

For the last 12 consecutive years, Henderson has served on council and the last four as Cobourg Mayor.

“I also believe we should be listening and adapting with the goal of implementing collaborative community initiatives and help advance the Town of Cobourg and support our residents.”

The key areas of focus for Henderson are, affordable and alternative housing, climate change and sustainability, 5G broadband and IT integration, youth engagement and developing a business continuity plan.

Henderson and his wife are empty-nesters with three grown children.

Cobourg councillor Adam Bureau announced last week he is seeking re-election as councillor.
