The Battle of the Atlantic Dinner was held at the Cobourg Legion on Saturday, April 30, 2022.

Guest speaker for the evening was Roger Litwiller, a naval historian, who shared a historical perspective on the HMCS Cobourg during the Battle of the Atlantic.

Cobourg Mayor John Henderson presented the ships bell from the HMCS Cobourg to the Royal Canadian Legion (Legion member Chris Barker in photo).

The ships bell was previously displayed in the mayor’s office at Victoria Hall and is on permanent loan by Mrs. Gordon Johnson of Halifax, wife of the late Captain of the ship and by her son Michael and daughter Nora.

Veteran Don Ramsey also presented Marion MacIntosh, who served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during a NATO Mission in both France and Germany at Air Force Headquarters in the mid 50’s with the UN Peace Medal.
