VIDEO – New Canadian Food Entrepreneurs Proudly Showcase Food Products at Ontario Agri-Food Venture in Colborne

New Canadian food entrepreneurs showcased and testing unique small-batch food products developed at the OAFVC (The Ontario Agri-Food Venture Centre (OAFVC) in Colborne on Thursday, April 21, 2022.

The event was part of the 8-week New Canadian Food Entrepreneur program. This free skill development program was delivered in January by the OAFVC and Northumberland County Settlement Services, with funding provided by the Government of Canada’s department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.

There was a variety of items to sample a variety of delicious products that will be available for distribution to local stores, including:
· A hibiscus cold drink
· Vegg Chup (a ketchup-like vegetable sauce)
· Pumpkin seed butter
· Mango-pineapple-raspberry sorbet (made with monk sugar)
· Hot relish sauce
· Date mini tarts
