Cobourg Police – Warkworth Woman Facing Four Charges Including Possession of Crystal Methamphetamine (No Name Released)

On Thursday, April 21, 2022, at 7:45 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop near Division Street and Havelock Street in the Town of Cobourg.

Police investigation revealed that the driver was operating the vehicle under suspension. The driver was arrested for driving under suspension. Upon arrest, police located a quantity of crystal methamphetamine and cannabis. As a result, the 33-year-old Warkworth woman was charged with the following offences:

1. Possession of a schedule 1 substance, contrary to section 4(1) Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

2. Driving while under suspension, contrary to 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act

3. Owner-operate motor vehicle no insurance, contrary to section 2(1)(a) Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act

4. Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available, contrary to section 12(1) Cannabis Control Act

The woman was released on an undertaking with a court date scheduled for June 1, 2022.
