Cobourg Police – Cobourg Woman Facing Five Criminal Charges (No Name Released)

Cobourg woman driving while suspended charged with possession.

On Saturday, April 16, 2022, at 10:50 p.m., police on general patrol observed an individual under suspension to operate a vehicle driving southbound on John Street near University Street.

As a result of the subsequent police investigation, the driver was arrested for driving while suspended. Upon arrest, police located a quantity of crystal methamphetamine. The 43-year-old Cobourg woman was charged with the following offences:

1) Possession of a schedule 1 substance, contrary to section 4(1) Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

2) Two counts Fail to comply with undertaking, contrary to section 145(4)(a) Criminal Code

4) Possess suspended licence, contrary to section 35(1)(b) of the Highway Traffic Act

5) Drive suspended, contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act

The woman was released on an undertaking with a scheduled court date on May 18th, 2022.
