Cobourg Police – Domestic Dispute Results in Charge

Man arrested for assault after police responded to a disturbance in the south end of Cobourg.

On Sunday, March 27, 2022, police attended a residence near Sydenham Street and Durham Street in response to a report of a disturbance.

Police attended and located a man and a woman outside the residence. The woman reported that the man had assaulted her.

As a result of the police investigation, the 36-year-old Roseneath man was arrested and charged with the following offence:

1) Assault contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code

The man was released on an undertaking with conditions and a future court date. The name of the accused is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
