Warm Temperatures Cause Minor Flooding Problems

In Local, Weather

With the warm temperatures on Sunday, March 6, 2022 there was a bit of flooding in area roadways.

On Sunday afternoon there was a single car collision on Merrill Road in Alnwick/Haldimand Township after approximately 100 yards of roads were washed out.

On Division Street North in Hamilton Township, just north of Highway 401 at Cobourg, culverts couldn’t keep up with the amount of melting snow in the fields which covered the roadway.

Down at Cobourg Beach, high waves brought the water up to the boardwalk in some areas of the beach.
