Northumberland OPP – Impaired Driving Charge in Hamilton Township

Members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid impaired driving charges in relation to a single motor vehicle rollover collision.

On Monday January 31, 2022, at approximately 12:21 p.m., police received information that a single motor vehicle had been driving erratically on County Road 18, between Camborne and Cold Springs in Hamilton Township. The vehicle lost control and drove into the ditch and rolled onto its roof. No injuries were reported as a result of the collision.

As a result of the investigation, Alexandra ATKINSON (age 32) of Port Hope, was charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Dangerous operation
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance – Opioid
  • Fail to Comply with probation Order

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on March 9, 2022.
