Cobourg Police – Cobourg Woman Charged with Impaired Driving

A Cobourg woman is charged with impaired driving after police conduct a traffic stop.

In the early morning hours of Sunday, November 28, 2021, police observed a woman showing signs of impairment enter a vehicle and leave the area. Officers initiated a traffic stop, and she failed a roadside screening and was taken to the police station. Further testing confirmed she had more than the legal amount of alcohol in her system.

As a result, 51-year-old Jody MACPHERSON of Cobourg was arrested and charged with the following:

• Impaired operation contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

• Impaired operation – Over 80 contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the Criminal Code

The vehicle was impounded. The accused driver’s licence was suspended, and she was released on an undertaking with a court date in December
