Quinte West OPP – Student Charged Following Fight at Local High School

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a young person following a report of an assault at a local high school where one person was injured.

On November 26, 2021 at approximately 12:30 p.m.., Quinte West OPP responded to a report of an assault at a high school on Old Highway 2 in Quinte West. Investigation learned that two students engaged in a fight which resulted in one of the youth being transported to hospital with a lower body injury. As a result, a 14 year old male from Belleville was charged with assault causing bodily harm and released on an undertaking. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Youth Justice Court in Belleville on December 15, 2021.

The name of the accused will not be released as is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
