City of Kawartha Lakes OPP Welcomes New Recruits

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are excited to welcome four new recruits to the community.

Officers are:

W. Henderson: He spent the last 12 years as a professional Pilot working with local flight schools in the area. Henderson says, “I have been living in the Kawartha Lakes region for the past four years and I am looking forward to serving my community.”

C. Sherk: Has returned to Kawartha Lakes after spending time supporting the Military both in Ontario a nd overseas in maintaining their health and fitness. Sherk comments, “I am looking forward to serving and interacting with the community.”

J. Longmuir: Comes to the OPP with a 4 year degree in Criminology from Laurentian University and has 12 years of experience as a competitive swimmer. LONGMUIR actively volunteers with the Special Olympics swimming and soccer team and is looking forward to serving his community through this new career.

T. Mittal-Mercer: Has an Honours Bachelor of Applied Science in Justice Studies with University of Guelph-Humber. Previously he worked security for the Centre of Addictions and Mental Health. MITTAL-MERCER states, “I am looking forward to working with the community to make connections and help preserve public safety with the City of Kawartha Lakes.”

Detachment Commander Inspector Tim Tatchell is once again pleased to introduce t he four new recruits to the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment. He states, “The local ties that many of the new officers have to the City of Kawartha Lakes will be beneficial as they engage with members of the community.”
