With overwhelming community support, Northumberland Rocks Back raised $25,172 for local organizations, services and programs. The outdoor benefit concert on August 20, 2021, showcased the talented Cale Crowe, The Spirits, Jeremy Macklin and Jesse Slack with stories from frontline workers and local volunteers.

$18,672 of the grand total will be allocated to the Northumberland United Way COVID- 19 Community Relief Fund that has helped over 30 local organizations, providing services and programs to residents of Northumberland throughout the pandemic. The remaining $6,500 raised through the BBQ and refreshments will support our hosts, The Lions Club of Cobourg, to strengthen their local contributions to serve others.

“Northumberland Rocks Back united our community and proudly made a substantial impact to help a lot of people,” said Graham Beer, Chair of Northumberland Rocks Back and Executive Producer of Cobourg Media. “The outpouring of support from organizers, volunteers, sponsors and attendees was overwhelming.”

Northumberland Rocks Back offered a unique and safe concert experience for those participating at the Lions Community Centre, watching the Cobourg Media livestream at home, or listening live to Classic Rock 107.9.

“Northumberland Rocks Back was a huge success for Northumberland County. All of the proceeds to Northumberland United Way will go directly back into the community,” says Bobbie Dawson, CEO, Northumberland United Way. “Graham and his team are helping to support those that need it most this year with the funds raised through this amazing event.”

The Lions Club of Cobourg we’re proud to get the community back to some kind of “normal” and help a lot of people again.

“We were very proud to play a role in Northumberland Rocks Back. It was great to see the community come together and have a fun time all while helping the Northumberland United Way COVID-19 relief efforts,” said Vicky Davis, Lions Club of Cobourg President. “Thank you to everyone involved for organizing a successful event!”

The organizers of Northumberland Rocks Back look forward to more exciting local events that give back to our community. They invite you to get in touch if you would like to become part of future initiatives.

“We created more than just a concert—we are a community of volunteers who want to make a difference in people’s lives, singing along the way,” added Graham Beer. “Northumberland Rocks!”
