Person Taken To Hospital Following Rollover in Alnwick/Haldimand Township

One person was taken to hospital following a single vehicle collision in Alnwick/Haldimand Township on Wednesday, September 29, 2021.

At approximately 10 p.m. emergency services were notified of a single vehicle rollover on County Road 22 at Country Road 45.

A vehicle travelling westbound on County Road 22 failed to negotiate a bend near County Road 45 went in the ditch and struck a culvert becoming airborne.

The vehicle went approximately 15 metres in the air before landing and rolling in the ditch in front of the Scenery Drive Restaurant near County Road 45.

Firefighters managed to extricate the person who was trapped in the vehicle and OPP officers assisted removing a small dog from the vehicle and placing it in a cruiser.

The single occupant of the vehicle was taken to Northumberland Hills Hospital with what are believed to be serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
