Cobourg Police – Woman Arrested for Theft and Outstanding Warrants

On Friday, September 24, 2021, police responded to a report of a theft at a local gas station. The complainant
provided a description and direction of travel for the female suspect.


Officers attended and located the suspect a short distance away. As a result of police investigation, 29-year-old Desiree IRWIN of Cobourg was arrested and charged with the following offences

Theft Under $5000 contrary to section 334(b) of the Criminal Code

Possess Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 contrary to section 355(b) of the Criminal Code
The investigation further revealed that IRWIN was also wanted on an outstanding Bench Warrant and a
warrant in the first instance for:

Fail to Attend for Court contrary to section 145(4)(b) of the Criminal Code

IRWIN was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
