Northumberland County Paramedic Charged Under the Highway Traffic Act After Collision

The driver of a ambulance is facing a charge under the Highway Traffic Act after a collision south of Hastings on Monday, September 20, 2021.

Two paramedics and the driver of a dump truck were taken to hospital and later released with minor injuries following the collision that occurred at approximately 4:40 p.m. on County Road 45 at Concession 9 West in Trent Hills.

Police stated at the time the ambulance was making a three-point turn when a southbound dump truck took evasive action to avoid the collision. The dump truck struck the front passenger side of the ambulance before entering the ditch.

On Tuesday, the paramedic was charged under the Highway Traffic Act.
