Collision Involving Ambulance and Dump Truck Sends Three to Hospital South of Hastings

Three people were taken to hospital after a collision involving an ambulance and dump truck south of Hastings on Monday, September 20, 2021.

At approximately 4:40 p.m. emergency services were dispatched to the area of County Road 45 at Concession 9 West in Trent Hills.

A ambulance with two paramedics was making a three-point turn when a southbound dumptruck took evasive action to avoid the collision.

The southbound dump truck collided with the front passenger side of the ambulance. The dump truck then went into the ditch.

At the time of the collision the ambulance had no patients on-board.

The two paramedics and driver of the dump truck were taken to Campbellford Memorial Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
