Clarification of Colborne Village Water Billing

In City Hall

Clarification of Colborne municipal water billing is being circulated to address concerns of the utility customers.

“With the change in water administration, some initial billing glitches have occurred. Today, Cramahe Township and Aquatech Canadian Water Services met to discuss public concerns and commit to communicating these billing solutions,” Cramahe Township Mayor Mandy Martin says.

Aquatech has announced THERE WILL BE NO LATE PAYMENT CHARGES ON COLBORNE WATER BILLS FOR THE NEXT YEAR as assurance to Colborne customers.

Aquatech Canadian Water Services assumed the administration and billing of the Colborne municipal water system August 1, 2021. The company has its Ontario operating license, the water system is meeting all operating standards and requirements of the Ministry of Environment oversight.

When the first trial run of bills for July water consumption were sent out to an estimated 300 customers, it became apparent there were inaccuracies which has been resolved. The July water bills have now been mailed out to every customer. Every customer will receive a paper copy of the bill. Further, those who have signed up for e-mail billing should have the same July bill by Thursday or Friday of this week.

The billing for August water use will be mailed out within the last two weeks of September.

To bring the billing system back onto regular scheduling (meter reading the 4/5 of each month, bills sent out on the 18th), Aquatech is phasing the timing of issuing the August and September water bills.
