Early Morning Single Vehicle Rollover in Cobourg

One person was taken to hospital following a single vehicle rollover in Cobourg early Friday morning.

At Approximately 3:40 a.m. emergency services were notified of a single vehicle collision on University Avenue East at Walton Street.

A vehicle was travelling eastbound when it mounted the sidewalk on the north side of the road, struck a no parking sign, a fence, a wood pile and a tree stump before rolling onto its side and coming to rest on the roadway. Children’s toys littered the roadway.

The lone occupant of the vehicle was transferred to hospital by Northumberland County Paramedics in non-life threatening condition.

Cobourg Police closed the road until approximately 5:30 a.m. for their investigation.

The investigation is continuing.
