Northumberland OPP – Impaired Driving Charge on Highway 401

(HAMILTON TWP, ON) – On Monday September 6, 2021 at approximately 3:51 pm, members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received information regarding a vehicle driving on Highway 401 in Northumberland County and the occupants of the vehicle were consuming what appeared to be alcohol and cannabis.        

Police located the vehicle on Highway 401 westbound at County Rd 45. After conducting a roadside investigation, the driver of the motor vehicle was arrested.

Jesse BABISTER (age 38) of Kingsville ON was charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) contrary to section 320.14 (1)(b) of the Criminal Code.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on October 13, 2021.
