Town of Cobourg Employee Struck by Vehicle

Emergency services attended the area of Ontario Street just north of University Avenue West after a pedestrian was struck by a truck on Monday, August 23, 2021.

A town of Cobourg employee (summer student) was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Ontario and University Avenue West at approximately 1:30 p.m.

The person was involved in delivering letters in the area to various homes while employed by the town of Cobourg.

When emergency services arrived the truck had left the area.

The victim was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Cobourg Police tracked down the truck and a Cobourg area man was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with fail to yield to pedestrian and fail to report accident.
