Two Videos On Woman’s Social Media Show A Pick-Up Truck Doing Spin-Outs Just Days Before Her Death

In Editor Choice, Local, Police Blotter

While the investigation into a fatal collision continues, two videos on the woman’s social media site show a pickup truck doing spinouts at two different intersections just days ago.

Twenty-three-year-old Serena Shaw of Hamilton Township was a passenger in a pickup truck that was involved in a collision on Sylvan Glen Road in the municipality of Port Hope late Wednesday evening at approximately 11 p.m.

A lone line of tire marks on Sylvan Glen Road show the path of the pickup truck before it went into the ditch.

The driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Sylvan Glen Road was closed until approximately 3 p.m. on Thursday while Technical Traffic Investigators examined the scene.

In a Instagram post under the name serenasshaw_ that is 35 seconds long and was uploaded four days ago a pickup truck spins its rear tires and does at least five complete 360 degree spins in the intersection during the daytime before leaving and the video ends.

In the second video posted on TikTok under the name serensa_shaw1 the 28-second shows once again a pickup does at least five complete circles spinning the wheels causing a large amount of smoke.

A male voice can be heard saying “yup – ready” before the thunder of the engine sounds and the wheels spin causing the smoke.

As the pickup truck leaves the area in a cloud of smoke a car is visible approaching the intersection.

It’s unknown if it is the same pickup truck that was involved in the fatal collision.

The investigation is continuing into the collision.
