Breaking News – Fire Deliberately Set Beside Railway Tracks in Hamilton Township

Three youths were apprehended after a fire was deliberately beside the railway tracks east of Hamilton Road on Sunday, August 1, 2021.

At approximately 7:30 p.m. Cobourg and Hamilton Township Fire Departments responded to railway lines belonging to CP Rail east of Hamilton Road just east of Port Hope in Hamilton Township.

A number of items were set on fire directly beside the railway tracks.

Port Hope Police along with Northumberland OPP searched the area for any persons responsible.

Three youths were apprehended a short time later and diverted to Rebound Youth Services.
