Cobourg Police – Man Arrested for Criminal Negligence After Person Struck by a Firework

On the evening of July 3, 2021, police attended an address in the Town of Cobourg in response to a report of a
person struck by a firework. Police arrived and located an individual who sustained injuries caused by a spent
firework.

Through police investigation, the person responsible was identified. As a result, Troy Pearson, a 29-year-old
male from the Town of Madoc, was charged with the following offence:

Criminal negligence causing bodily harm contrary to section 221 Criminal Code of Canada

The man was released on an appearance notice with a future court date.
